When Washington Was in Vogue

A young black man moves to Washington, D.C. to pursue a career, and winds up falling in love, in a Harlem Renaissance novel by Edward Christopher Williams. But even though it's just now being published, it's not a new book. Williams actually published it anonymously, in magazine installments, in 1925 and '26. When Williams died in 1929, his novel faded into obscurity. But now it's presented for the first time in book form, thanks to scholar Adam McKible.
