He is such an iconic composer, Ludwig van Beethoven is known even by people who otherwise don't know a thing about classical music. Indeed, to many, his name is synonymous with classical music. Now his life is described in a book by Pulitzer-winning biographer Edmund Morris, called Beethoven: The Universal Composer.
