Creating fiction that is autobiographical is standard operating procedure for novelists, but few take the tack that Bret Easton Ellis uses in Lunar Park. It's the story of a writer named, coincidentally, Bret Easton Ellis, who's been up and who's been down, and is now trying to come up again -- until strange spirits haunt his house, and a series of child abductions terrorizes his suburban community. Suddenly, autobiography yields to the supernatural.
