From his first appearance in print in 1887, detective Sherlock Holmes has been an icon in literature, a figure who has been emulated, imitated, and copied. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories about Holmes have never been out of print. Now Sherlockian scholar Leslie Klinger -- by day a Los Angeles attorney -- has assembled all 56 original Sherlock Holmes short adventures and has written extensive annotations to them, in a special two-volume book.
