Carrie McGavock was a Confederate wife whose Tennessee plantation became a hospital during the 1864 battle of Franklin, in which over 9,000 men died. By the end of the war, McGavock's backyard is a cemetery, which she meticulously cares for, for the rest of her life. Very, very little is known about McGavock, however, so Nashville music industry professional Robert Hicks uses fiction to help fill in the gaps in our knowledge.
