The HBO series "The Sopranos" is one of television's most popular shows. But why do so many people like a show whose main characters are all crooks and killers? That's what Dr. Glen Gabbard wanted to know. He's a professor of psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine, and his book was actually born out of his own skepticism -- he had long been frustrated with how psychiatry has been portrayed in movies and TV.
