October 3rd, 2002 was a deadly day in Montgomery County, Maryland, outside Washington, DC. Five people were killed in a series of random sniper shootings that day -- over the next three weeks, ten people would die at the sniper's hands, and two others, including a 13-year-old boy, would be gravely wounded. The police official who headed the intense sniper manhunt was Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose.

Charles A. Moose was the chief of police in Montgomery County, Maryland at the time of the 2002 sniper attacks. He resigned in 2003. He is currently a member of the Honolulu (HI) Police Department.
