If each of us has one teacher who had a lasting impact on us, for Molly Worthen that teacher is Charles Hill, a retired diplomat who taught a history seminar at Yale, and totally captured her imagination. She once wrote in her notebook, "Charles Hill is God." Now Hill is the subject of Worthen's book The Man on Whom Nothing Was Lost.
