The civil rights movement led by Martin Luther King was nonviolent, but by the late '60s there was a growing impatience with nonviolence, and King was increasingly pressed to hold together the movement and keep its eyes on the prize. Now Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer Taylor Branch concludes his groundbreaking trilogy on King's life with a book that describes the three years leading up to King's 1968 assassination. Branch's book is entitled At Canaan's Edge.
