It's 2009, and Kip Dawson, a pharmaceuticals salesman, has won a seat as a passenger aboard a commercial spaceflight, in the John Nance thriller Orbit. Dawson's dream flight turns into disaster when a freak accident kills the spacecraft's pilot and leaves Dawson alone in space, doomed to die. Or so he assumes, so he picks up a laptop and starts writing, emptying his soul for some distant future reader to see. What he doesn't know is that people are reading his words right now.
