Growing up in Afghanistan in the 1970s, Nelofer Pazira and her family enjoyed a stable and comfortable life. But that ended with the Soviet invasion in 1979, which turned her homeland into a war zone. Her family finally fled Afghanistan in 1989, and Pazira went on to star in the movie "Kandahar." Then she decided to write a memoir called A Bed of Red Flowers.
