Ever since he was a teenaged sergeant in the U.S. Army in World War Two, Walter Zacharius has had a story "burning on his brain," as he puts it. For years he put off writing it, instead becoming a book publisher himself, founder of Kensington Publishing. Now, at age 80, Zacharius the publisher has written his first novel, that story he's been burning to tell since 1944. His book is the story of a girl who survives the horrors of Nazi Germany.
