When a German U-boat sank the British cruise ship "Lusitania" in 1915, it shocked the world. A number of prominent Americans were aboard the liner when it was torpedoed, sinking in 18 minutes. 1,200 people were killed in the attack, described now by historian and writer Diana Preston.
