What makes Jose Francisco Lorcan Kennedy so special, in the Tony Hendra satire "The Messiah of Morris Avenue," is that Jose is, indeed, the Messiah. He arrives in America in the near future, after the U.S. has been turned into a theocracy by a fervent Christian right wing. But as Hendra's story unfolds, it becomes obvious that Jose's arrival is nothing like the Second Coming we'd been expecting.
