America's wilderness can't be contained in a few large, but scattered, national parks, argues conservation biologist Jonathan Adams in his book The Future of the Wild. Adams is a proponent of a system of "landscape connectivity," to help wild animals and birds, and even plants, migrate naturally from habitat to habitat.
