Until the tragedy of September 11th, the worst workplace disaster in New York City's history was the Triangle Shirtwaist factory fire. In the span of just a few minutes, late in the day on March 25th, 1911, the blaze killed 146 people, most of them young Jewish and Italian women. Now the full story of this tragedy is told in journalist David Von Drehle's book.
