For three weeks in October 2002, the suburbs of Washington, D.C. were terrorized by a series of fatal sniper attacks. The attacks ended, after ten deaths, with the arrests of John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo. The story is told in this book by the two Washington Post reporters who covered the story as it unfolded in 2002. Sari Horwitz is one of those reporters.
