Calvin Trillin writes poetry on deadline. And topical poetry, at that. Trillin became The Nation’s “deadline poet” in 1990, and his work has also appeared in The New Yorker, the New York Times, and NPR. His 2004 book "Obliviously On He Sails" proved that you cannot unseat an incumbent president with iambic pentameter. But Trillin is back with more poetic swipes at the Bush administration in his book "A Heckuva Job."
