As a young man, Nando Parrado was a member of a Uruguayan rugby team aboard a charter plane that crashed high in the Andes in 1972. A couple dozen of the passengers survived the crash, although Parrado himself was seriously injured. And miraculously, through their ingenuity, their faith, and a decision they found almost too difficult to make, they survived for 72 days. Parrado tells the story in his book "Miracle in the Andes."
