When the UN sent weapons-inspection teams to Iraq after the first Gulf war in 1991, among its most senior inspectors was former Marine intelligence officer Scott Ritter, who continued with arms inspections until 1998. And what he now says in a new book called Iraq Confidential is that before the 2003 U.S. invasion Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, and the CIA knew it -- but shaped its intelligence to suggest just the opposite.
